Join us on Saturday 12th of April to lend a helping hand in installing and planting some brand-new planters on Mirabel Street.
Turn any corner on Mirabel Street and you'll be greeted by a fascinating piece of history - the Grade II listed former Parcel Post Office, the historic Beaumont Building (once home to Rolls Royce), and just a stone’s throw from Friedrich Engels’ old digs. It's an area whose past is intrinsically linked to the city but whose present is in need of a little more greenery.
We’re looking for local residents and volunteers to come down and get stuck in. There’ll be a little something for everyone to help out with so don’t worry if you don’t have any previous experience - we’d love to see you there. We provide all the necessary tools, gloves and equipment. No sign-up required.
We believe that encouraging the council to move away from low maintenance planting and traditional maintenance contracts in the heart of the city is a big win for everyone, providing opportunities for people to come together to garden, providing new habitats for urban wildlife and encouraging us all to see the city a little more as a garden.
Thanks again to Manchester City Council and Councillor Anthony McCaul for their continued support and commissioning the project.
See you there!
