PLANT CO-OPERATIVE CIC is committed to keeping your personal data safe and secure. This page provides information about the type personal data we may collect from you, what we do with it, and how we respect your privacy. Plant Co-operative CIC collects, processes and uses your personal information strictly in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulations (UK GDPR).
What information do we collect and how do we use it?
If you sign up to our mailing list, we’ll collect your name and email address.
We collect all of this information to provide updates about our project and opportunities with how to get involved. We’ll always try to make it as interesting as possible (promise!)
If you sign up to register interest in our volunteering, we’ll collect your name, email address and phone number (optional). The personal information we collect about you is used to help us manage and run our volunteering program.
We will only collect the information about you that we need.
WHEN AND HOW DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOU?
We collect information about you when you sign up to our mailing list.
We also collect information about you when you register with us using our volunteering application form/online registration process.
How long do we keep your data?
If you sign up to our mailing list, we’ll hold your data until your relationship with us ends. You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time.
If you sign up to register interest in our volunteering, Personal data will not be kept for longer than necessary and will be destroyed or deleted when it is no longer needed.
Do we keep your data safe and do we share it with anyone else?
We do not share your information or sell your information to any other organisations.
Personal data collected through paper registration or consent forms is stored in a locked cabinet when not in use or shredded at the end of each session if not required. Personal data collected through online registration forms will be stored in the cloud/in password encrypted files. Personal data will not be kept for longer than necessary and will be destroyed or deleted when it is no longer needed.
What rights do you have over your data?
You have all the rights set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include:
Right of access – you have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information
Right to rectification – you have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete
Right to restriction of processing – you have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances (in other words, we continue to hold the data, but not to use it)
Right to object to processing – you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances, including an absolute right to object to direct marketing
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
